Dear Secretary General of The Chinese Red Cross Foundation, M. Wang Rupeng
Dear CEO of Biostime, M. Fei Luo
Dear Director of Lallemand Group Asia and Biostime France, M. Ulrich,
Distinguish guests, Ladies and gentlemen, good morning,
I am very honoured to be here today with you in Sanya to celebrate the opening ceremony of Biostime China Foundation for Mother & Child.
This week I have been attending several meetings and opening ceremonies, which were all located in big and dusty industrial zones of Guangdong province, so I must admit it is much nicer and more exotic to be here today in such a beautiful hotel and Island ! Congratulations for your choice !
Nevertheless, as lucky as we are to be here, we should not forget what we all gathered for today, that is to say to support a very serious cause : the issue of poorness and illness among the weakest people, I mean mothers and children.
I am very proud to know that Biostime, a Sino-French company, has had the courage to address such an important social issue in China, to create this Foundation and to organise today’s fund raising activity.
By doing so, Biostime is leading the way and giving a very good example of a good practice of what we call “sustainable development? indeed, Biostime has cleverly understood that a company’s economic development in the long term should go along with social awareness and commitment, all the more as its core business is health products. I think you can be proud to work with such company.
Therefore, the French Trade Commission in China (法国驻华大使馆经济处) brings its strongest support to this incentive, hoping that the foundation will accomplish great achievements, and encouraging the donors to be very generous for today’s fundraising !
Thank you again for your invitation, I wish a vey fruitful fundraising for the New Biostime Fundation, and to everyone a very good day?/div>

Honorary Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is a great honour for me to be here today participating in launching the “Biostime China Foundation for Mother and Baby?that Biostime in association with Red Cross is sponsoring. For Lallemand and Biostime France we are proud to be indirectly associated with this foundation.
For nearly five years we have been contributing to the health of children in China through the distribution of the Biostime Sachet. However, it is also our duty to think about those for whom cost of any health problem is a major issue that it is not possible to find a solution for. It is our duty to help those children and mothers that suffers from distress and serious disease and that are without support.
The death rate of poor infants is for 4.5 times higher than that in well off areas. The death rate of poor pregnant women is 7.2 times higher than in developed areas.
Often for very rare diseases or very severe diseases treatment is very costly, very limited, or impossible in certain geographical areas. We have seen as late as in the last national congress the need for China to focus more on these areas.
It is my strong belief that with this foundation a big support will be available which was not there before. I hope that people outside the network of Biostime will contribute in supporting the foundation and that it may be an example for others to realise the need to begin helping people in need in China’s less developed areas.
I would like to wish the best of luck to the foundation and thank Biostime and Red Cross for the initiative.
Thank you.
